ParticipantI’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….I’m willing to patiently bear whatever bad weather comes in Dec/Jan/Feb, but every day after March 1 better be at least 50+ degrees and sunny or I’m gonna flip my s&*t.

Cobbles at Paris-Roubaix. A bit harder than the wooden bridge. Put your bike in a big gear, keep a light grip on the handlebars and power through it. That or ride on the sides of the road with no cobbles.
Yeah, I agree; harder than the wooden bridges. This looks loosely like the rutted ice on the trails, though probably is tougher. Someday I’ll ride some stretches of real French/Belgian cobbles and then I’ll be able to compare more accurately

Anything to justify not reaching for the 40lb studded MTB after riding on my significantly faster CX bike the last couple of days.
The Black Battleship (studs and all) mumbles restlessly in my workshop, watching the Weather Channel, chomping at the bit, flexing its chain, and stretching its pedals, chanting, “Bring it on! Bring it on! BRING IT ON!”
(It could be a little jealous of the recent attention garnered by my light weight, skinny tire, red TREK road bike)

ParticipantSpring should be appearing in just a couple of days.
Ordered Moose Mitts for my drop bar bike and a pair of Lake 303 winter boots last night. Upon their arrival, it will suddenly become 60F (well maybe 50F) and sunny.
You’re welcome.

ParticipantThank you. Some reason you couldn’t have done that a week ago?

I already tried that. Not only did my Moose Mitts not bring about any warm weather, but I was removing them on Sunday and the velcro decided it no longer wanted to be attached. They’re at the cleaners, ready to be picked up after being re-sewn, though, so maybe when I get them for the ride home it will change the weather?

I just got my Road ID. Therefore, I shall never again crash.

Thanks Dana… I was about to order studded tires for the same reason, now I can skip it right?

ParticipantJust remember that studded tires aren’t going to make any difference in eight inches of wet, sloppy snow.

There will be some cobble stretches during the Tour de France this year. Chris Froome has already announced his objections.

I just want to know when all this mess is going to start. I’m supposed to be at work till 8:30 tomorrow night, and I’m wondering if I will be able to ride home at that hour.
No, I don’t have a fat bike.
Or a snow mobile.
