For marine birds, such as these seagulls, the ocean feeds them every day.

Factoid of the day:
First established in 2016 by Bob Matthews from Rochester, New York, Feed the Birds Day is celebrated annually as part of National Bird Feeding Month that occurs every February.
National Bird Feeding Month has a much longer history, dating back to 1994 when a concerned citizen named John Porter read a resolution into the US Congressional record in defense of the birds.

Nice shot, but I don’t think that’s actually a pileated woodpecker. They really do look like Woody Woodpecker. We used to have them all around and ON our house. Then we got Hardie Board siding. They still occasionally show up at our suet feeder but they’re so big they can’t bend over enough to eat much while they’re hanging on. It’s pretty entertaining.

Oh!! You’re right. I was too hasty in my classification. I believe that’s a red-bellied woodpecker. Will edit!

At least I remembered the task after my London Bridge and a little short-term amnesia. Nice dent in the helmet and sore hip/shoulder. Decided to head home and recover before considering the 10 miles.
