    1/15/2023 National Hat Day

Captured this Russian doll with a hat from Russia at the Reston ice rink. Such cute, delicate felt decorations! Thanks to mom I didn’t have to manually manipulate the photo to protect the child’s image from the internet!

That gentleman appears to be wearing a spittoon as a hat.

There were not many people out on this windy day, so it was hard to find a hat. Happily, I did some window shopping and saw some funny greeting cards.

    1/25/2023 National Hat Day
This one is celebrating Mardi Gras rather than National Hat Day, but I believe it still qualifies. Hat is on the bottom shelf.

On a slightly chilly, and very blustery day, not too much in the way of stylish or interesting hats out in public, bike helmets, toques, baseball style caps, etc. So my entry is a millinery shop in Del Ray, Tops of Old Town on Mt Vernon Ave

    01/15/23 National Hat Day

This cutie’s mama was so proud of him that she was thrilled. I was sharing his photo. I didn’t have the heart to say I was only interested in the hat.

    1/15/2023: Hat Day

I found this art in the window of the Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation in Hyattsville, MD. I got the sense that what Archie wore was cool, including his hat.

That dog is wearing a hat! (This would have worked for yesterday’s challenge, but, alas, I did not ride).ecf3ad79827567b46251407de543d849.jpg

Luckily, I had a truck stop along the way. You can find anything in one of those. I even made a phony head mannequin for it.

Found at Sligo Creek Elementary School, seems like there are lots of stories about princesses, but none of them tell you that the cone-shaped hat that they wear is called a henin, which became popular in the late middle ages and continues to remain popular today!

It is against the rules to take a picture of something taken from home. So the colorful Maryland Meadworks cap that I am wearing in this picture is NOT the subject. Instead the thingie that Nadine has on her head is the “hat”, which celebrates National Hat Day. I gave moral support by wearing a biking cap with the dramatic colors of “Calvert and Crossland” (IE the Maryland Flag) And also an image of a bee. And by drinking mead.
