1/10/23 the 50s So, not to brag but…I found the best entry…beautiful Chevy Belair 1956 Vintage Station wagon in front of a 1954 built home with matching aqua accents owned by Mick from Hastings, England and his wife Barbara born in England in 1955. And, the mailbox matches the car!!! Dryer Ave, Largo FL
I was hoping to see a car with tailfins yesterday, but couldn’t find one.

Tonka toys, started in 1940. In the 1980s (that you skipped) I briefly temped for their maquiladora on the border. To this day, I love me a good, hard-working construction vehicle! My secret fantasy birthday gift is to have my own bulldozer. And permission to use it wherever I choose.🤣

A decade mostly known for war, I’m thinking Swords to Plowshares and learn war no more. The Harry S Truman (US President for the second half of the 1940s) Building was designed at the end of the 1930s as the new home for the War Department but became the home of the US State Department in the 1940s.

Military style housing built in the 1940’s in the Shirlington and Fairlington areas for incoming Federal workers. The properties went up before much of the infrastructure so water, sewage and electricity were added later. Also this was segregated housing for several decades.
