Here’s a better photo of the Cooking Pot location. I guess it doesn’t matter which day since we have the whole week. Hopefully, going out of the app for awhile works. Attachments are so awful. e4bf3000fce05ec2ed4e8637fd493380.jpg

    Pango Pango

The second photo is Ben’s Chili Bowl on Ben’s Chili Bowl Way (U St. where I almost was right hooked by a high speed chase, squealing wheels and all – I was shaking for quite awhile after that). There’s no way the chili could be so famous unless it was actually being served from Pango Pango’s mysterious Cooking Pot that takes many ingredients and turns them into something fantastic.

“Pango Pango is one of the gods of Mystery Island, who blesses users with special items for giving him the proper gifts at the Cooking Pot. It is implied that Jhuidah’s magic is also required for the Cooking Pot to function correctly, as when she went missing in the Mystery Island Volcano plot, users were required to use a recipe that doesn’t usually work.”

I’m pretty sure there is at least one street sign that says “Samoa” there. I sincerely doubt there is any heather though.

    3/823 Sparrow

The black throated sparrow is migratory through El Paso. I am not sure this is one of them, but it definitely has a black throat and was very small, like the house sparrows we see in Virginia.

Slow on the uptake on this one – can you explain the Pango Pango / Pago Pago connection?

I was confused too, because I thought it was originally Pago Pago as in the place, but I checked and this was the last post you guys posted. I think Pango Pango came up easier on the internet too. So I figured I dreamed Pago Pago. aacdd857d7c84ae2a51cd54106aafc58.jpg
I have more info/photos of Pango Pango too. It’s his pot that’s at Chili Bowl and why it tastes so good. I made that part up (and someone else made up the rest!) lol!

The little bird at the bottom of this sign certainly must be a sparrow.

    3/8/2023 Bulldog wearing pants
You can’t actually see that the bulldog mascot here is wearing pants, though I can assure you he was. (The high school wasn’t about to let its mascot go without pants in public.) But the girl behind him is one of the Winston Churchill High School Bulldogs, and she is clearly wearing pants.

The mascot in question is Jake Cassell, later killed while biking along Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. It’s taken from his memorial.

It was spelled out Pango Pango in the song lyrics I found, maybe just to match the pronunciation. Definitely referring to the place, though I don’t think there really are alligators there. The cooking pot I haven’t heard of.
