Here’s my bike by the Queen St. spite house in Alexandria. The house was built in 1830 and is just 7 feet wide.

In 1944, delegations from China, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States met here at Dumbarton Oaks to deliberate over proposals for the establishment of an organization to maintain peace and security in the world. The outcome of these meetings was the United Nations charter.

And did you know that “Taliaferro” rhymes with “Oliver” — at least in Virginia it does.

I went by three homes that are on the Nat’l Register of Historic Places. The first two were way off the road and hard to get a decent picture. The third was right along the road (The Historic Nat’l Road), so I was able to get a decent picture.
This is Roberts Inn in Cooksville, MD.

I have attached a link to Nat’l Register listing and one to the historical marker along the road in case you want to read more about it.
