Dawson-Bailey House in Arlington’s North Highland neighborhood. Probably the oldest structure in Arlington.

Here’s my bike by the Queen St. spite house in Alexandria. The house was built in 1830 and is just 7 feet wide.

In 1944, delegations from China, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States met here at Dumbarton Oaks to deliberate over proposals for the establishment of an organization to maintain peace and security in the world. The outcome of these meetings was the United Nations charter.

This is the Vaughn House on the campus of Vanderbilt University.

This house, one of seven constructed before Vanderbilt opened for classes in 1875, has served as a residence for married faculty members, a dormitory for men and for women, and offices for the Department of Romance Languages and teaching assistants in Western Civilization

And did you know that “Taliaferro” rhymes with “Oliver” — at least in Virginia it does.

Foundation of the house at the Abingdon Plantation. Built around 1746 and destroyed by a fire in 1930.

The remains of the house are located between two parking garages at Washington National Airport.

I went by three homes that are on the Nat’l Register of Historic Places. The first two were way off the road and hard to get a decent picture. The third was right along the road (The Historic Nat’l Road), so I was able to get a decent picture.

This is Roberts Inn in Cooksville, MD.

I have attached a link to Nat’l Register listing and one to the historical marker along the road in case you want to read more about it.

The Tuscarora Mill in Leesburg was built in 1899 and remained in use as a grain mill until 1985. It now houses the Tuscarora Mill Restaurant and is the heart of the Market Station shopping center.

Tudor Place, Martha and George Washington’s granddaughter’s/step granddaughter’s house.

    From https://tudorplace.org/
“Tudor Place Historic House & Garden preserves the stories of six generations of descendants of Martha Washington, and the enslaved and free people who lived and worked at this Georgetown landmark for nearly two centuries.”
