Advertised as “THE” Catholic Cemetery in town, it was quite busy today. A couple of pavilions up, indicating services being held, and lots and lots of families/visitors placing flowers. i took the photo and did not go in, wanting to be respectful.

Back to the mountain theme with a view of the Rocky Mountains in the background (might be hard to see depending on how this loads

Chapel Hill memorial gardens in Centennial, CO.
I didn’t know until I rode through it, but it’s also home to the memorial for those 12 children and a teacher who lost their lives at Columbine HS in 1999. It was very tasteful and touching.

I flew out to Colorado for a memorial service, so I didn’t get to an outdoor cemetery, per se, but I did get a photo of my friend’s urn, which is LIKE a cemetery for his remains.

This is St Mary of Sorrows Historic Church in Fairfax Station. The cornerstone for the church was placed in 1858 and the church was dedicated in 1860. The cemetery is actually older than the church. Land for the church and cemetery was donated to the Richmond Diocese in 1838 and they created the cemetery at that time.
