Rode to my local Dunkin, hoping to bring home afternoon treats to the fam. Alas…no joy (or fried dough…or baked good of ANY kind)!!!! Completely sold out!
I guess everyone is loading up on baked goods before the storm.

Duck Donuts is a locally-owned donut shop in Herndon, VA (corner of Herndon Pkwy and Elden St) that makes your “duckadent treat” to order. Donuts are made fresh to order and delivered warm. I was in a bit of a time crunch so ordered a half dozen to go. By the time I got home both the donuts and I were partially frozen �� Even though there’s a Dunkin’ Donuts much closer to my home, I had to go to Duck Donuts since i’ts my oldest grandson’s favortie donut shop.

Eschewing the chain donut stores, I rode to a little hold in the wall place (appropriately enough for a hole in the pastry kind of food, right?). The donuts were SO delicious! And the chorizo in a blanket I picked up to eat later for lunch was amazing too. I might regret finding this place!

Sunset doughnut tour of places I could hit in about an hour ride. I wanted to share the Krispy Kreme photo on because it had 20+ cars in li Na e at the drive thru at 5pm on a Saturday (are they giving doughnuts away? That place is always busy here), but this photo was much nicer and more original as a local store. Better name. Plus the many open/closed signs to confuse. P.s. of the 4 doughnut places, only Krispy Kreme was open.
