Found these persistent white oak leaves still hanging on the branches alongside the 4MR trail near S Glebe Rd. You can tell that they are white oak leaves by their rounded, shallow lobes along the leaf margins. Red oaks (all species except the “live” & “willow” oaks) would have much deeper lobes with points at the ends.

There’s a mural in Del Ray that celebrates a number of local traditions, including the annual Halloween parade and Art on the Avenue (an art festival usually held on the first Saturday in October). In the “R” and “Y” of the mural, the backgrounds include trees with autumn leaves.
