This is what passes for a creek in the desert here. If we had rain, it would have water. The alternative photo would have been street signs with “Creek” in the name. Not sure where the imagination for THOSE developers came from — the neighborhoods are dry as a bone!

I think a gulch counts as a creek out your way! I remember crossing the Rio Grande a few times in Las Cruces thinking I’d see a majestic River. Hah! Boy, was I wrong.

All this time I didn’t realize that was the correct spelling! What’s confusing is that there are some other locations in that area that use Pierce for the spelling like Pierce-Klingle Mansion. I guess that was a different family!

Long Branch Stream in Long Branch Stream Valley Park in Fairfax. There is a nice pedestrian bridge that crosses this stream to connect two neighborhoods. This bridge is a great way for pedestrians and bikes to avoid Olley Lane and Burke Station Road (both busy secondary roads).
