Ricky and Jo started this awesome contest last year. Since Rumi and I rode with them frequently, we had first row seats to the huge amount of work it took in the background to run the contest. So we hope that you all still appreciate the motivation of a daily goal even without us having to post the new clue just after midnight every day – with some kind of personalized illustration for each. Or meticulously tallying everybody’s points – on a daily basis – without the use of a hashtag.

And Ricky and Jo are super nice… but Rumi and Millie are arbitrary and capricious. 😎

1/7/2022 – Cuboid ( and Happy 97th Birthday to my mom!)

Cube Smart Storage at 444 W 55th St in Hell’s Kitchen. With this morning’s snow fall it was easier to get there (very light traffic at 9:30 am) than back up to the one in the Bronx that I passed on wednesday on my way to the Tappan Zee.

Most houses here have a cuboid of this type on top. In the desert, a “swamp cooler” is a far more efficient way to cool one’s home in the summer. Not sexy, not scenic, but definitely essential!

I started out looking for trucks…. but by the end somehow it seemed like there were MANY cuboids! I guess I learned how to see them…. Plus I came home via Anne’s house cuz I wanted to drop something off for her, and then I found this twofer* 2 blocks from my house! (possibly a threefer [emoji848])

Apologies for the skewed photo. I woulda had to back up or get up on the opposite side of the street over all the plowed snow to get them both in a straight up shot – and I was cold….. Plus if I’m honest I prefer the world a li’l slanted. [emoji2957][emoji2956][emoji1744]
