3/17/22 [emoji3515] Ugly House There is neighborhood lore about this house. Reportedly there has been no one living in the house for many years. Neighbors complained because it was overthrown and in disrepair. All think the ugly shade of blue was a slap in the face to neighbors from the owner.

I wouldn’t want to call anyone’s house ugly, but boy did the neighbors complain about “ugly” when they learned that the construction project replacing a typical single family home was DC’s first container ship house:

3/17/22 – ugly house

I really don’t like the look of Edwardian houses. I understand that the design was originally intended to sneak in an extra storey by pretending it’s an attic, and while I applaud the ingenuity, I wouldn’t wanna live in one.

There’s a whole cul de sac of them just off of Harrison Ave by the trail that runs parallel to the Custis in N Arlington. Here’s the one my husband chose as the ugliest.

Too much work work tonight, and just getting time to upload. Hopefully this entry still counts (as I took a break earlier to ride during the snowstorm).

Odd how there is only one front window (looks like space for 2 are now covered with wood and exterior lights). To each his own.
