It might not be the indie, hip, local hideaway, but thank goodness vinyl is cool again….and Target sells them again!

With today’s snow and single digit temps, I knew I wouldn’t make it too far. Thankfully Target is only a sleaze mile away. Sadly, they didn’t even plow the parking lot (often those are more clear than the streets).

Antique Village in Kensington is the home of Love People Records, which advertises “New | Used | Rare | 45’s | 33’s | Tapes.” Unfortunately, it doesn’t have its own entrance and Antique Village is closed at this hour, so you’ll just have to believe me that there is a record store in there.

Of course, as one who was brought up to believe that 33s were the new thing, as compared with 78s, I have apparently become an antique myself.

I love taking my kids to Tosche Station in Springfield (Huntsman and Fairfax County Parkway) where we normally pick up Magic cards and sometimes gifts for friends. They have a decent selection of comic books and other collectibles. Glad to have them in the neighborhood! [ATTACH=CONFIG]28751[/ATTACH]

Comic Logic in Ashburn, VA (44031 Ashburn Shopping Center #281) has been open for 7 years and has a loyal customer base. They sell a very extensive inventory of single issues, as well as collectors sets and comic book character relevant chachkies.

I have to admit I’m not a big comic book fan. But I’m willing to go shopping for other people if you are. If you think I can find something out here that you can’t find locally, send me a message and I’ll try. I was blown away by how many comic book stores there are here! (Sadly, one I checked on yesterday has a lock-out for non-payment of rent notice on its door).

At any rate, as I took this photo I thought the pigeon was eyeing me suspiciously. And when I see my reflection in the glass, I think I know why! What strange looking being is this?

In Victory Comics store at 586 S Washington St, Falls Church, I found Paper Girls – a comic book about girls delivering newspapers on bikes when an invasion from a mysterious force from the future struck the town.
