I’ve been wearing this violet jacket most of this winter. And today I just happened to have my purp I mean VIOLET gaiter & earband
on the handlebars too….

It is not in bloom yet, but the gardener assured me it is periwinkle.

These flowers are a beautiful shade of periwinkle. These are Speedwells (Veronica spp.) with 1/4 to 1/2 inch flowers. Some people grow them on rock walls, or use as border plants, while many others revile them as creeping weeds that encroach upon their lawns. Speedwell also has a medicinal use. Traditional use includes wound healing, the treatment of rheumatism, and use in different human diseases. Veronica spp. exhibit a wide spectrum of biological activities, including microbial and antioxidant. So next time you’re tempted to rip it out if your lawn, think about all its benefits.

I had to stick my arm inside the fence and hope that they didn’t have a dog. If you look closely, you can see my reflection.

And you can see quite a bit of periwinkle in the more subtle shades of the curve.
