Thanks to Jessica Hirschhorn for the great tip on finding fossils. I was afraid a selfie was going to be my only option for today’s quest.

Fossils are embedded in every piece of stone on the facade of the building.

Ah, yes, I can see it on your Strava page now. Yup, the other link is still broken. By perspective I just meant the World War One people. It makes me think about time, history, and perspective.

I was editing it because the photo was sideways. Try again and see if you can see it now. But go back to the original, since the other ‘attachment link’ no longer works.

Not sure what you mean by original. Attachment still doesn’t work, but Strava link does!! ♥️

By perspective I meant sense of time and purpose. History is interesting from that perspective.

Today I returned to the dinosaur that I spotted during my #publicartfinder ride three days ago.

I struggled with this one but learned that you can earn a Minor in Paleontology at George Mason University. This is the front of the building at GMU that houses that program.

These are a couple of replica dinosaur bones from the “dino dig” at Locust Grove Nature Center. There is also a sandbox where junior “paleontologists” can dig up plastic “bones” and try to figure out what kind of dinosaur they came from. Unfortunately, it was apparently too cold today for any kids to come out.

Thanks for the good laugh today. As I was passing the Inova Commonwealth Care Center in Fairfax I did give thought to taking a picture of that facility and saying that there were probably a few fossils in there, but I was afraid of offending someone who did not see it as a joke.

I’m pretty sure these are not human bones. Maybe a paleontologist can figure it out.

I also went to Capitalsaurus Court this morning, pausing also to snap a few shots of Congressional buildings since people keep saying Congress is full of dinosaurs. Maybe a paleontologist can sort out that mess.

I do love how it was school children who lobbied to give DC it’s own official dinosaur and name a street after it! I wonder if there’s still more dinosaur bones under the park there…
