American Legion Memorial of Arlington at Clarendon Circle originally commemorating the fallen of WWI later adding the fallen of subsequent conflicts. It’s been relocated twice.

This memorial plaque honoring the 100th Infantry Battalion, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, and the Military Intelligence Service is located in front of 719 Pine St, Herndon, VA. The aforementioned Japanese-American units from WWII are the most highly decorated units in military history. They exemplified duty, honor, and country to the utmost while taking on some of the toughest assignments of the war.

2/18/2022 – War Memorial

Continuing my historic tour, here is an “All Wars Memorial” located at the Pine Grove Chapel in Mt. Airy, MD, which was built in 1846. There is also a Civil War memorial, but it is faded and hard to read. You can also see a Civil War Marker in the background.

Paleontology! 2121 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. Building designed by Michael Graves. Exterior stone is Jurassic limestone from S Germany:
160 million years old! Crinoid fossils embedded all over.

Nadine I’m going to start more strictly enforcing this. Anybody who posts more than one photo will be disqualified from the beauty prize judging on that day. We say that you can post Multiple photos to your Strava ride but please only post your one favorite photo for each daily scavenger hunt in the forum
