Monday Morning Pancake withdrawal in Kyiv, coffee and multigrain flakes with raisins in the kitchen just isn’t the same. :(

A smallish pancake club met today, but NOBODY HAD PANCAKES. My role as stand-in is as inferior as ever and clearly we’re pathetic without you.

No one’s stopping you from making pancakes.

True, no pancakes for me, but I did have scrapple and it was delicious.

Late posting from this week’s MMPC where I had the pleasure of meeting Gina, who has assumed much of Consularrider’s vacated presence, including his home and circle of cycling friends, but who has a much cooler stainless steel bike, with couplings!

    And the reason behind MMPC:

After which, KayakCyndi once again invited me for a “recovery ride” from Sunday’s RBC2015 century, and a proper coffee, at Green Lizard Cycling in Herndon. Enroute she hit cruising altitude on her Volagi with 40mm tires somewhere around 25 mph!

I’m in. IIRC, they WERE open Memorial Day, just a little later than normal.

Reason: there is also a rumor of a gravel ride in the morning

My thumbs are still healing from swapping tires for last weekend’s gravel ride.

Is this the SL23s? The new version was supposed to be easier for tire mounting (the original version had a bit of a reputation).

I recommend the Crank Bros speed(ier) lever for hard to remove/install tires. It works wonderfully.

    Yup. The new version too.

Granted, I suck at changing tires. I was able to get my 35mm Sammy Slicks on there mostly ok but struggled getting the Pro4s (23?) off and totally gave up trying to get them back on. But even Dirt put forth some serious effort mounting them so I feel a teeny bit better. He also showed me a trick to using the levers to get the tires seated on the rim (I destroyed my tube in the process, sigh).

I will absolutely buy those levers, thanks!
