ParticipantBike around the bomb is at 10 am on Saturday but pencil me in as a possible show-up to this too. I’ll need to successfully take nap to stay up this late because I gotta be honest I’m the reincarnation of my great great grandmother, one of the first Methodists, famous for going to bed at 6pm in order to raise holy ruckus after a necessary 14-16 hours of sleep every day.

ParticipantSee you all tomorrow night!!
Ride-ups welcome, so feel free to make a last minute decision to join.August 6, 2016 at 1:57 pm #1056058Boomer Cycles
ParticipantWould love to join, but woke up late, and can’t ride my bike from here to there in time to make the ride. Please order an egg omelet for @Felipe in my absence though, or otherwise he might get grouchy. Ride on, midnight saddles!

ParticipantIt was nice riding with everyone on such a pleasant night! I was somewhat jealous of the milkshake that Steve ordered at Bob & Edith’s, but I was more than satisfied with their delicious french toast 😎
After we all parted ways, I did some flying down the big Walter Reed hill (haven’t done it in a while, and I almost yelled out, “WEEEEEEEE!”), and once I was finished climbing the Beauregard hill, I eventually made it home. I had absolutely NO issues falling asleep Saturday night!
Thank you, Steve, for hosting the ride! Leo and Stephanie, I hope each of you get to do more night rides (this was their first “official” one) and enjoy them just as much as I always have.

ParticipantThanks, guys, for taking pics (I didn’t realize I was being photographed at the survey marker)!
Here’s the link to the self-guided Arlington History Ride with detailed information on the sites, 2 of which we stopped at during Midnight Saddles: http://www.rswart.org/histride.htm
I made a video of my ride with Scoot where we did the full Arlington History Ride last fall if you want to see how to access some of the sites that you probably have passed by many, many times:

ParticipantHello Night Owls,
The next in our delightful series of Midnight/Moonlight Saddles rides is upcoming on Friday, October 14. Details still TBD, but as usual we will gather at the Washington Monument at 10:30 PM with roll-out at 10:45 PM. Great opportunity to give your winter lights a pre-season workout.
Midnight Saddles rides are social rides. We ride as a group at a moderate pace and end at a 24-hour establishment. Then we share food, drink and company.
Not recommended for those with early Saturday morning responsibilities, but if you can sleep in a bit, then join us! Note that this one is on a Friday night instead of Saturday night. Those who have been unable to attend in the past due to Sunday morning responsibilities are especially invited.

ParticipantI will be bringing some extra Nite Ize See’Em spoke lights in a variety of colors as gifts for anyone who wants them (these are the lights: http://www.niteize.com/product/See-Em.asp) They look really cool at night and help with side & diagonal visibility.

I love these and have put the pink and green ones on my birthday/x-mas list that I just sent to my mom.
In fact, you might actually be the person who turned me onto them last year (at a Midnight Saddles ride…). If so, thanks!
