Whenever you want! You can ride around at night with your friends every day if you like.
I usually organize a fall Midnight saddles ride in October. One year it was actually on Halloween and we wore costumes!
That said, I do not own the franchise rights for Midnight Saddles. Anyone may organize and host a night-time ride and call it Midnight Saddles if they like. No charge (I’m a nice guy that way).
Given your eagerness, sooner than that is the Alexandria murals ride hosted by the Alexandria BPAC.

ParticipantIt’s been a long time, friends, since that wonderful Midnight Saddles ride following the Apollo anniversary extravaganza show on the mall. FU COVID!
Mark your calendars for Midnight Saddles: 2021 Comeback Tour
Date: Friday, July 30
Time: 10:45 PM rollout
Place: Washington Monument
Route and destination: TBDMidnight Saddles rides are social rides. We ride as a group at a moderate pace and end at a late-night establishment. Then we share food, drink and company.
Not recommended for those with early Saturday morning responsibilities, but if you can sleep in a bit, then join us!

Note: To maximize the enjoyment and safety for all attendees, Midnight Saddles rides are open to all who are fully vaccinated for COVID. If you are not yet fully vaccinated by the date of the ride, there will be more rides in the future; you may join us then.

ParticipantSteve, thanks for organizing. I am in. A family member is visiting that week, but that should not get in the way of the night ride.

ParticipantSo, what do we do between the closing of Fridays at the Fountain and the start of Midnight Saddles? it doesn’t take that long to get from Crystal City to the Washington Monument.

You may do whatever you like.

That depends on the route you take.

Do you know when the route/destination will be revealed? Trying to negotiate my release to participate, and arrival time at home is a question that’s been raised to which I’ve been unable to provide satisfactory answers…

I may be mistaken but are there not Critical Mass events the 4th Friday of the month?

The Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens is open late on Friday nights for a few weeks in the summer: https://www.nps.gov/keaq/planyourvisit/lotus-and-water-lily-festival.htm
