Just wanted to check to see if the midnight ride is still set for Saturday/Sunday? Steve O commented it was bumped, but I’m not sure if that means from this weekend to another. Thanks.

“Bumped” means I’m bumping the post back up to bring it to the attention of people who may have not seen it previously.

Ride is on. Hope you can make it.

    Not auspicious for tomorrow night:

Unless this forecast changes, we will postpone the ride. I will make an official decision late tonight or early tomorrow morning.

Fingers crossed it will clear up before you make your decision.

Forecast is improving. For now ride is on unless forecast deteriorates by this afternoon.

Looks like light rain for the ride. I’ll dress appropriately, bring some dry stuff for the diner and hope to see some of you there.

The small but dedicated foursome who rode through a soft, gentle rain (not that cold, so very tolerable) to Tastee Diner in Bethesda for late night chow.

Rosslyn skyline in background just before we got on the Capital Crescent Trail.

The best time for Midnight Saddles is summertime. ‘Cause it’s warm out, and riding at night in the summer is just awesome.

Join us Saturday for our Summer 2016 Midnight Saddles ride. If you have something to do Sunday morning, you may want to think twice about joining. If not, though, what’s your excuse?

    Date: Saturday, August 6
Time: 10:30 PM (10:45 roll out)
    Location: Washington Monument
Destination: Bob & Edith’s Diner on Columbia Pike
Estimated ride length c. 20 miles. Easy, social pace.

Like this post if you plan to join.

Here’s the preliminary route for this Saturday’s Midnight Saddles ride:
    -Loop the Mall
    -Loop Hains Point
-Counterclockwise Arlington loop w/Bluemont Junction cutoff (hopefully some nighttime insect and frog sounds)
    – includes photo-op at the Bikeometer
    -Bike Boulevard-ish streets to Bob & Edith’s

Hope you can make it! Like the previous post if you’re coming.

The best part is that it ends two blocks away from my house. Genius route planning this month!

Would that I could, especially since I too live a mere mile or so away but I’ll be out of town.

I believe we’ve had between 4 and 8 for each of the previous rides. Perhaps we’ll set a new high water mark on this one.

(night riding in the summer = totally awesome) Check
(a rare Sunday that I have no commitments) Check
(final destination super close to my home) Check
    (untorn left calf) Fail

:( Wish I could join but my recent softball injury and orthopedic boot say otherwise. I’m off the bike until I recover further and my doc/PT okay it. Hopefully I can handle a short flat ride by mid-month.

Hey scoot – join us at the diner then. Best guess: 12:30ish.
