ParticipantHope y’all have fun with this great fall weather; late one last night with a sick M, and WAY too tired/jumpy to play “fireworks or gunshot?” getting to the MBT

ParticipantFreezing Saddles is over. Spring is here (mostly). So it’s time for our first Midnight Saddles ride of 2019.

Date: Saturday, April 27
Time: 10:30 PM meet; 10:45 PM roll out
Starting Location: Washington Monument
Ending Location: TBDI still need to determine the destination and create the route.
For those who have never gone on a Midnight Saddles ride, the rides are fun, social rides.
We ride together as a group at a moderate pace with occasional stops to take photos or otherwise take in something interesting. We always end at a late-night eatery where we share food, drink and company. They are usually 15-20 miles and end at the eatery between midnight and 1 am. (If you are new to Midnight Saddles, scroll back through this thread to learn more)
All are welcome to join the ride. If you are concerned about getting home afterward, we will make sure at least one person accompanies you, even if that has to be me.

ParticipantI will be there! I’m flying in on a red-eye from Seattle Friday night (I arrive in town around sunrise on Saturday), but I will make sure my bike is up to snuff to do some riding.
I miss riding around DC at night, and I look forward to seeing y’all on the ride!
(Special note: if the route goes past Audi Field, I will wear my Sounders shirt)

Updates:
Draft route is planned. End point is Wise Guy Pizza near Union Station.
We will make a brief stop at 12th and Florida NE and observe a moment of silence in memory of Dave Salovesh.April 20, 2019 at 2:18 am #1097826Starduster

ParticipantI’m a definite maybe. I’m flying back home from a business trip in Seattle* on the red eye Friday night/Saturday morning so we’ll see if I’m feeling the vibe by Saturday night.
* @Bobco, I’ll reach out after I get there on Tuesday to see if we can catch up while I’m there. I’ll be downtown on Madison Street at the Renaissance Tuesday evening until I fly out Friday night.

What Karen means to say is that she’s definitely going to be there. We are, by sheer coincidence, flying on the exact same red-eye flight from Seattle to Dulles Friday night/Saturday morning!
