On yesterday’s ride I passed SIX LFLs, but none today. I searched for a second time today for one that’s supposed to be on the Turquoise Trail in Reston, but no luck. So today, this is what I offer to other LFL contestants. Check out the LFL photos in my Strava post from yesterday (https://www.strava.com/activities/6699011928) for the locations of 5 LFLs in Alexandria and 1 in Bluemont Park in Arlington.

That has happened to me so many times! Maybe our next project is updating the LFL map on the website!

There are THREE LFLs on the side of the Pennington Traditional School in Manassas. You can see 2nd LFL to the left of this one, and just a part of the roof of the 3rd behind it. They were built by a student for an Eagle Scout project. Each of the three sits atop a bench so there’s ample room for students to choose a book and sit down for a read. All three LFLs were a bit of a mess and I spent some time straightening up the one that was the most disheveled. Most of the books were kids books, some for all ages at an elementary school, but there were a few adult books as well. i left “A Spool of Blue Thread” by Anne Tyler.February 21, 2022 at 2:47 am #1119774bikedavid
ParticipantA LFL on the Rhode Island Trolley Trail in Riverdale Park, just past the Riverdale Park town center between Riverdale Road and Oliver St. Has seats to sit and an eclectic collection from novels to a book about scrapbooking. Looks well stocked!
