LFL’s are few and far between here in El Paso Texas but I used the map and found a couple to ride to today. Hoping to participate in my own game (if not to claim a prize), I reached the end of the paved road and contemplated whether continuing 2 miles would be worth it. Mind, the gravel here is not gravel but desert grunge mixed with thorns. I had already come 10 miles so two more didn’t seem to be too much.When I reached my destinations I found no LFL’s and the two facilities where they were supposedly located completely locked up tight. Peering through the fence, I couldn’t see anything that looked like a little free library. I left the book I brought in the mailbox and started back home.

Location: Lat: 38.930466 Long: -77.3602353. On the path that runs along the east side of Steeplechase Dr in Reston, just south of the intersection of Bugle Ln and Steeplechase, behind 2410 Bugle Ln.
This Little Free Library didn’t have any children’s books that I could see, and really should have LOTS since it’s only about 500′ from Hunters Woods Elementary School. Didn’t think, given the late hour, to bring any books with me, but planning to revisit this LFL and bring some children’s literature!

Well stocked little Free Library at 13th and Newton Streets NE DC. Generally full enough that it’s hard for us to add in new books, though one time I saw someone drive up and nearly empty it without even looking at the titles.

Spotted at the Mechanicstown Square Park in Thurmont. Mechanicstown no longer exists (it is now Thurmont), but they have a tiny little park at the intersection of Rt. 77 and Rt. 550. I was here before for the Civil War Game.

They even had a Hardy Boys mystery! I remember reading those and Nancy Drew back when I was younger and read.

Little Free Library at 240 Wesmond Ave Alexandria. Well stocked including one of my favorite books, Hillbilly Elegy by JD Vance. Also includes dog treats because it’s in Del Ray, land of dogs and children
