Today I got a three-for-one shot while searching for the ScavHunt and found this LFL and a Monument bonus!

This is the LFL at the Historic Sydenstricker schoolhouse at 8511 Hooes Road in Springfield.

This sparse LFL at 10268 Nolan Dr in Rockville definitely needed more children’s books. This Encyclopedia Brown book involving a New York Yankees has a bicycle on the cover too!

This one at 4721 Ellicott Street Northwest is unusual in that it is entirely transparent on all sides. I left a copy of Little Dumplings.

On yesterday’s ride I passed SIX LFLs, but none today. I searched for a second time today for one that’s supposed to be on the Turquoise Trail in Reston, but no luck. So today, this is what I offer to other LFL contestants. Check out the LFL photos in my Strava post from yesterday (https://www.strava.com/activities/6699011928) for the locations of 5 LFLs in Alexandria and 1 in Bluemont Park in Arlington.

Left a copy of The Great Race at the LFL at 903 Wade Avenue in Rockville.

(Note that the book is already inside the library in the photo, but you can see it through the door.)

LFL on Commonwealth Road in front of Laurel Hill Elementary School. I met a nice family from Eritrea (country on the northeast coast of the African continent) who told me that their kids like to come to the FLF after playing on the playground. I had just taken my pictures and had to move my bike so the kids could attack the LFL. We talked for a while, and I told them about the scavenger hunt. He was not aware that there were other LFL. I told him that there were several more in his neighborhood, so I think he is going to look for them. He says his kids love them and that he has also found interesting reading material. This LFL had a great selection of children’s books and a pretty good selection of adult books.

Note the url on the front of the box, Sharewithothers.net. This is an organization started by the family of Todd Bol, the late founder of the Little Free Library. They sell LFLs and other related items, the profit from which helps to advance the front yard sharing movement begun by Todd Boi.
