ParticipantClever LFL at 100 Welsh Park Dr in Rockville had 2 sides: one for adult books and the other children’s books. I donated a book about Olympian ice skaters, Michelle Kwan and Tara Lapinski.

I’m not sure why this one at 3902 Windom Place Northwest has Christmas lights all around it. But I left a copy of Chinese Myths.Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk

Not exactly a LFL, but a little library (across the street in the park, looks like a gazebo) that is free for all in Juan Les Pins, France!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Left Asian Adventures A-Z at the LFL behind the Georgetown Village Community Center, 11400 Commonwealth Drive, North BethesdaThis was a particularly challenging one. First off, Georgetown Village is a gated community. So as I blasted through the gates (fortunately designed to stop only cars, not bikes), I was wondering just how vigilant the police were — and/or what the status of stand your ground laws is in North Bethesda.
Then the LFL had only an address, not an indication it was a community center. And Google maps kept telling me the address was on the left side of Commonwealth. All the houses on that side are set way back, down a hill. So I was climbing up and down that hill and poking around other people’s houses in the middle of the night inside a gated community, frantically looking for addresses, before figuring out that Google had it wrong.
Then the address given was that of the community center. However, the LFL is way behind the community center, and there is no direct path there from the community center. Instead, you have to get off Commonwealth onto Tudor, then follow a path from Tudor that goes back behind the community center. But before figuring this out, I spent a fair amount of time tramping around the community center and peering in the windows.
The good news is, I didn’t get arrested or shot in the course of all this. .

This impressive LFL doesn’t appear on the LFL map on their website, and did not have a plaque with a charter number. On the side it says it’s the Latham Crossing Free Library and it’s located in the corner of N Latham St and Taney Ave in Alexandria. It was well stocked with a variety of popular titles (including “50 Shades of Grey” and it’s companion “50 Shades of Black.” There are six sections and the one on the lower left was mostly children’s books and the emptiest of the six so I left “Babar and the Wully-Wully” by Laurent de Brunhoff.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ParticipantLFL in front of Fairfax Villa Elementary School on Santa Clara Drive. It had a great supply of children’s books but could use some adult books to go along with the children’s books.

I don’t know how many times I’ve been at the intersection of Florida and 1st NW DC and looked across at this mural while waiting for the light to change but didn’t see the Little Free Library in front of it. How long has it been there? Anyway, it had very few books but a really cool flip top design! KidSnowLeopard figured out how to open it.
