This LFL had only adult books so I left “He Bear, She Bear” by Stan and Jan Bernstein.

I like that you’re showing up “prebeared” … or is it that your pannier is “loaded for bear?”

I wasn’t too excited by this generic and plain looking LFL. However, as I investigated it I was delighted to discover that in addition to being a LFL, it was a geocache container! This LFL was quite full so I was planning to leave a very small “Robin Hood” children’s book in exchange for “The Abstinence Teacher” by NYT best-selling author Tom Perrotta. I noticed a slim volume without a title which I pulled it and opened, thinking it might be a journal begun and abandoned, with yet a number of blank pages. Low and behold, the first page explained that the LFL was a geocache container, with guidance on what that meant and a request to sign the volume which was, in fact, the geocache logbook! Of course I did, and am thinking that geocaching by bike might be a good replacement activity in the non-winter months for the BAFS pointless prize games! A photo of the first page of the logbook in my Strava post for today.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I tried geocaching by bike one summer but found that so many of the caches were co-located with briars and other kinds of deterrence!

ParticipantLFL on Woodland Drive in Fairfax. Love that they modeled the LFL after their own home. It was well stocked with books for adults. Could use some children’s books.

KidSnowLeopard and I hit up this great Little Free Library on 10th St NE DC near Kearney. It had a Highlights magazine with a scratchoff Pisces fish and a cute book we read on the spot about a baby pea who is forced to eat five pieces of candy for dinner before he gets the dessert treat of spinach!

ParticipantI went the wrong way on a one-way street to find this LFL at 5811 Vandergrift Ave in Rockville. Luckily it was a quiet neighborhood. Donated this childrens book about Eskimo whaling… is that a sport?

ParticipantWhen I went to Occoquan on January 2, I could not locate either of the LFLs that were supposed to be in Occoquan. Today, as I was riding on Union Street (and not looking for a library) this bookcase caught my eye. I went back to check it out and, sure enough, it is a LFL. It is on the porch of The Preservation Station, an antique store in Occoquan.

Left Chinese New Year at this LFL at 4308 Chestnut Street, Bethesda. On the post the library is set on is a coat hook from which is suspended a jar of dog biscuits, a bag for collecting dog poop, and a bottle of Purell. They take care of the needs of even the nonreading members of the family!

Left “7 Minutes to Fitness.” If you have a 5-9 year old who like Judy Moody, this LFL has several.
Hard to get a good clear photo since it was dark. A separate photo of the LFL where you can actually read the charter number is in my Strava post:
