Replenished this LFL on Duke Street in Alexandria. This is the LFL that Serdar found last month without any books. It didn’t have any books today either. Karen and I rode in from Vienna to bring a few books for the now, no longer empty library shelves.

For you and karenbikes2, serious bonus points for truly embracing the spirit of the LFL hunt!

This LFL is located in front of 3813 7th St. South, in Arlington. There were not very many children’s books at all, and most of the adult ones were on subjects that didn’t really interest me (which is unusual, since I like just about everything, so these were really boring books – LOL!). I dropped a kids book about Junie B. Jones.

ParticipantThis LFL located at 14313 Gaines Ave in Aspen Hill, MD had lots of adult books on baseball so I donated this kids book. I think dog sledding is a sport called mushing.

Stopped at the Woodridge library for book return and pickup and then dropped off some soup at the little Free pantry in 12th St NE DC across the way from the little Free robot library.

ParticipantJust sort of wandering I rode by three LFLs in Arlington Heights and Alcova Heights. Photo from 3104 6th St S. It had a good general mix of books, but didn’t see any little, little kids books

ParticipantLFL located in front of Movement Rockville (formerly Earth Treks), a climbing, yoga and fitness studio at 725 Rockville Pike. Not many kids books so I left this one about basketball:

ParticipantStopped to pick up a can to donate to this Little Free Library pantry outside Yes organic market on 12th St NE DC and must have forgotten to restart Strava. But left some soup and Encyclopedia Brown book to the nearly empty library.

I wasn’t too excited by this generic and plain looking LFL. However, as I investigated it I was delighted to discover that in addition to being a LFL, it was a geocache container! This LFL was quite full so I was planning to leave a very small “Robin Hood” children’s book in exchange for “The Abstinence Teacher” by NYT best-selling author Tom Perrotta. I noticed a slim volume without a title which I pulled it and opened, thinking it might be a journal begun and abandoned, with yet a number of blank pages. Low and behold, the first page explained that the LFL was a geocache container, with guidance on what that meant and a request to sign the volume which was, in fact, the geocache logbook! Of course I did, and am thinking that geocaching by bike might be a good replacement activity in the non-winter months for the BAFS pointless prize games! A photo of the first page of the logbook in my Strava post for today.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Participant2/09/22: Little Free Library @ 1929 Park Road NW, Mt Pleasant DC found while participating in the DC Bike Party Ride so didn’t have time to browse the titles. But it seemed like every other house on this street had a LFL making this a very target rich environment!
