2100 Sequoiah Plaza
Arlington, VAThis little free library is INSIDE the Human Resources Center at Sequoiah Plaza in Arlington. I couldn’t get the trike inside, so I have a photo of the trike in front of the sign, and then a photo of me in my cycling gear next to the LFL inside. The cool thing about this little free library is that it is modeled after the Charles R. Drew House, which is in the neighborhood. The other cool thing is that Dr. Charles R. Drew is my great-uncle. This library had lots of adult fiction books, but lacked children’s books, which I think it needs because there always lots of kids who accompany their parents to this place, and I bet they get bored really quickly!

ParticipantLittle Free Library in the 5800 block of Sherier Street NW says there are kids’ books in the front and adult books in the back. Let’s just say that the front includes “Movements of the New Left.” While I admire the attempt to get them while they’re young, it could use some actual kids’ books.

I had a heck of a time finding this LFL, hidden away in a neighborhood park. There was a sign as I approached it (posted in my Strava feed) warning “Homeowners Use Only!” I really have to question how well this installation meets the spirit and intent of little free libraries. This LFL was full up on an assortment of books for kids and adults. I exchanged “Hansel and Gretel” for one of my all time favorites, “A Man Called Ove,” by Fredrik Backman.January 26, 2022 at 12:40 am #1117735camiller
ParticipantI love the design of this LFL found on Commonwealth Blvd in the Kings Park area. It has a sign on it stating that it is a “limited edition” celebrating the first LFL.

Little Free SEED library
The garden at Thomas Jefferson Middle School/Community Center
Arlington, VAThis is a wonderful garden on the grounds of the school, and this seed library normally provides seeds for folks to to take or swap. But because of COVID, there were fewer seed packet donations from seed companies, so I plan to go back and donate a few seed packets.

ParticipantLittle free library at Hawthorn Ave & Westmont Terrace, Bethesda MD – with a kinda matching house behind it. (If I’d noticed the house when I took the pic I woulda maybe positioned myself differently. [emoji2358][emoji1744])
