Edmonston/Lewis LFL has nice stepping stone leading up to it. It was also wired but I didn’t know why…maybe a light?

Deposited “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” by Ann Brashares and borrowed “No Need for Speed: A Beginners Guide to the Joy of Running.” Not that I’m thinking of starting running as I’m already a retired runner (back injury). Since running has become increasingly popular since Covid, thought I might find another LFL that could use it. I liked how the LFL coordinates with the owner’s house.

Little Free Library is theoretically at 1101 Edmonston Drive in Rockville. However, that house is on a corner lot, and the LFL is actually on Lewis Street. It has a combination of children’s books and books on fitness, and could use more of either.

1/19/22-so fun hunting for LFLs. This one I pulled from memory and was lucky that it’s still there on N Underwood St near 26th St on the property of Historic Crossman House43c134cf3cc2971564a006297dda8956.jpg

So cool. I had to look up this use of the word “vernacular”. It says: concerned with domestic and functional rather than public or monumental buildings. In other words, they used a .25c word to describe an ordinary house that was worth preserving as long as they gussied it up to make it sound important. I guess in the NoVa area, with so many notable VA historical places, you do what you have to in order to stand out!

    Well done!

This beautiful LFL was found in New Albany, IN at Catholic Charities on 7th and Market Streets. Lots of good selections for adults, but needs kid’s books! I may drop some before leaving town!!
Also, this beautiful church shaped LFL has a twin at the opposite corner, which is a food pantry! You can see it if you zoom in. On the right side of the photo.

This Little Free Library on 22nd and Taylor NE is responsible for getting Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in my head on today’s rainy ride. I have only seen the film and had no idea that the book was written by James Bond creator Ian Fleming!

Not that we want to glorify cars in a biking game…so this library could use more books about people pedal power!

You accessed the library by sliding the plexiglass. Since it was raining, I didn’t peruse the holdings.

This little free library had a selection of adult books, but could really use some children’s books.
