Focuses on books about nutrition, so they’d probably like more of those.Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk

ParticipantThis LFL is located at the end of Mirror Pond Drive in Fairfax. The gentleman pictured with the LFL is also playing Freezing Saddles AND is the Steward for this particular LFL. It is nicely organized with a good selection of adult books on the top shelf and children’s books on the bottom shelf. While we were there, Eric took the time to tidy-up the books in the library. Talking with him I learned about the process he went through to obtain approval and payment for his LFL. It definitely gave me a new appreciation of the LFLs seen in the neighborhoods. My hat is off to all Stewards of these libraries, both in setting them up and maintaining them.

There was a little jar labeled Geocache Do Not Remove. More activity than leaving and taking a book!January 10, 2022 at 2:59 am #1116099karenbikes2@gmail.com
ParticipantMy good friend Julie’s granddaughter, Olivia Bond, created this LFL with a friend for a Girl Scout project. It’s adjacent to the parking lot for Reston’s Cathy Hudgins Community Center on Pinevrest Rd. It’s well maintained and stocked with an assortment of books but seemed that it could use another children’s book so I left “Fox on the Job” by James Marshall. Lat: 38.941586 Long: -77.36582

Participant1/9/22-LFL found by accident when looking for another. Was lost on Wild Rose Circle in Bayside, Selbyville, DE and alas, there it was…can save the other one for another day–lame collection of books I would never read and nothing for kids
Don’t get confused by the below LFL imposter. Open it and you will not find books!

ParticipantOn Sunday evenings, I will post who is leading with extra points. These are in addition to the point you get for each day via your strava.
Leader at this point: Indiana with 21 extra points
This week I gave bonuses to:
3 for HokieBeth for Tricycle LFL
3 for Indiana for daughter riding with her AND playing along!
3 for AlanA for nice comments on other people’s submissions
3 for sfrank for rearranging books to meet a librarian’s standards
3 for karenbikes2 for carrying books in her pannier to refill LFL’sAs promised, these extra points are linked to my whimsy. I’m pretty sure sooner or later everyone will accrue some. Next week I’ll be looking really hard at the design of the LFL’s searching for artistic/cool factors!

ParticipantAnother LFL on 17th St in Mt Pleasant. This one is further down the hill at 3436 17th St and could use some more fiction. It also contained a random book on Bhutan!

ParticipantHere’s one from the Fair Hill Shopping Center in Olney, MD (next to the Subway).
A bunch of kiddies books which makes sense (they have weekly kiddie concerts during the Summer very close to here). And a serious sounding one about world regimes.

This LFL belongs to my community, Starlit Ponds. Cathy approves! I installed it last summer. It’s specially equipped with an Adult and a Children’s section, wow. Strategically placed on the way to Frost MS! It could use more Sci Fi, please:)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ParticipantLFL #46111 @ 12 E Rosemont, Alexandria VA
The folks in the Rosemont hood like heavy duty titles by Alan Dershowitz, William Frank Buckley Jr., and the summer sleeper hit of 2009, “The Help.” Happy to see that someone gave up their copy of “The Age of Innocence” as this LFL could use some more supermarket trashy romance novels

Little Free Library for kids on the 1400 block of Irving Street NE, companion to an adult one I posted earlier. This one has a good selection of kids’ books, including a bunch by LM Montgomery and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
