One of our favorite places, and handy to Jones Point.

You got two points, Gina! Great job!
Here is a leaderboard with extra points.
I use data from this leaderboard on the Freezing Saddles website and add extra points to it. A leaderboard with extra points will have an upper hand at the end of this pointless yet meaningful competition. Ride and seek!

I have eaten there multiple times with my daughters and this was where I was introduced to Boba Tea. They no longer offer Boba Tea but that tea can be found a few doors down at Sharetea.

I love Pho. I often went to the one on Wilson Blvd before this pandemic hit us.

Kalorama Deli. This unassuming deli, like many deli, is run by Korean immigrants. In addition to standard American deli items like burgers, sandwiches, and wings, they also serve some Korean items like bimbimbap, bulgogi, and Mandu dumplings contributing to the culinary landscape. A hidden gem in the neighborhood!

They have pretty good reviews. I hope to ride there one day.

Today’s photo hunt theme is “cone,” so I decided to make it a two-fer and stop by one of my favorite local gelato shops, Casa Rosada. The owners are from Argentina and serve Argentinian-style gelato. They’re also super-nice and now recognize me whenever I stop by (which is often). The store is closed for the winter, but I’ll be back after they reopen in March. The reason I know this is that there are almost always cars parked in the bike lanes on both sides of the street picking up carry-out meals. I have also eaten there, it is good, and they serve ginormous portions of rice and beans with every order!

A fun fact is that the original Chinatown in DC was in Federal Triangle and was later relocated here when federal buildings were built there.

January 9, 2022 at 1:47 am #1115987camillerParticipantThis Japanese restaurant, Samurai, is located in the University Mall Shopping Center in Fairfax. Not only is this game giving me a greater awareness of all the contributions to our society and social fabric made by immigrants, but it is providing incentive for adding miles to my routes to take pictures of the places. Thank you, Serdar. (I have a couple of places I am looking forward to checking out in the future days and weeks.)

Their specialty is South African flame grilled Peri-Peri (Peri-Peri = African Bird’s Eye Chili) chicken. Peri-Peri is also known as African Bird’s Eye Chili, rich in Vitamins A, B, and C, and containing capsaicin, a natural mood enhancer.

So nice of her to tell us that Tatte is Israeli. It’s pretty new, too. On Clarendon right across Edgewood street from Whole Foods. This is new and Sharon and our bikes using that pretty sculpture as a bike rack. You can see the sign for Tatte right above Sharon’s red helmet. [emoji16]

Cool, David! I keep track of locations for a possible group ride later. So far, we have these four locations in DC. Here is RWGPS route.
