Jinya Ramen Bar, 11964 Market St, Reston, VA., is one of several dozen locations of the restaurant founded by Tomo Takahashi who arrived in the United States in 2010. When he searched for his favorite Japanese food, he quickly realized that enjoying the traditional taste and flavor of ramen wasn’t possible – unless he made it himself.

Thai rolled ice cream is also known as stir-fried ice cream because of how it is prepared. This is a popular treat in Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and the Philippines, where it is often sold by street vendors.

Here’s a good article describing the process: https://www.splendidtable.org/story/2018/07/24/on-a-roll-thai-rolled-ice-cream-brings-fresh-new-flavors

Thank you! I am happy to see different establishments representing immigrants’ heritage. So far, we’ve seen lots of restaurants, some churches, grocery stores, ice cream places, a rug (kilim) store in Spain, and now a record store.

The Xi’an area of north central China is probably best known for the terra-cotta warrior statues, but the meat buns from that region are yummy too!

Their naan must be delicious! I loved when my parents took me and my siblings to the country on the weekends. Our aunt would bake fresh bread for us in tamdyr. Tamdyr is tandoor in my native Turkmen language.
