ParticipantSaw this van today while we were doing our ride with the following inscription: Iglesia Pentecostia Fuente de Verdad (Pentecostal Church Source of Truth). There are a lot of Spanish speaking people in our area and churches have been established to meet their needs.

ParticipantAll Dulles Area Muslim Society, or the Adams Center, on 46903 Sugarland Rd, Sterling, VA. Didn’t get the official sign which wasn’t nearly as interesting and beautiful as the building itself.
Over the last 30 years, the Adam’s Center in Sterling, VA (46903 Sugarland Rd.) has grown into one of the largest Muslim community centers in the DC metro area. Founder, Tony Abdelmalek, returned to Egypt to celebrate his heritage and reconnect with his roots. While traveling the corridors of Cairo, he took notice to the street food that lined the roads. Tony became infatuated with the idea of bringing this piece of Egypt back with him to the United States. Tony immediately began developing his traditional family recipes to create truly authentic falafel with made-from-scratch ingredients. Abdelmalek teamed up with Grayson Shurett and Taza began as a pop-up falafel stand in 2014 on the University of Georgia’s east campus. Now Taza supplies kitchens across the U.S. with authentic made-from-scratch falafel, allowing chefs and food fanatics to improve their menus and diets while bridging a few cultures along the way.

ParticipantJayasri Sweets is run as a family business overseen by Mrs. Jayasri. Her hobby & passion of cooking sweets for family & friend’s events was how it all began. With the encouragement of her friends, it soon expanded and turned into a business in early 2000’s. The new store-front location in Herndon (313 Sunset Park Dr) was established in 2012 serving a much larger audience, providing fresh and authentic Indian sweets and snacks made on a daily basis.

Jinya Ramen Bar, 11964 Market St, Reston, VA., is one of several dozen locations of the restaurant founded by Tomo Takahashi who arrived in the United States in 2010.
