I figured out why my Schwalbe Pro One kept springing leaks (then sealing at 40psi) while riding. Apparently I didn’t look very closely at this used tire before I threw it back on.
How many miles?

I think Schwalbe calls their reflective sidewall tires “reflex.” The G-One Allround don’t have the reflective strip. I think most, if not all the Marathons do.
Now you’ve got that *@&#&^$ Duran Duran song in my head. Not cool, man. NOT COOL.

Your missing the threads showing through gives comfort to us less meticulous types. Been there, done that.

I have to check when I get back to a computer. But I think this used to be the front (then swapped) and has close to 5k.

Wow! All the negative reviews are like “got 800 miles to the threads.” Very reassuring, since I’ve generally gotten long life out of tires.

One of the advantages of fenders is that you can’t really see your tires. That allows you to milk every single last mile out of them, right up until they fail catastrophically.

I’ve always gotten good life out of these tires — especially for a high-performance tire. I checked; that one had around 5900 miles on it. The numbers might be a little inflated by having swapping wheelsets during the winter for a month or so, but definitely over 5k.

ParticipantBTW, merlincycles.com is running an extra 10% off sale on Schwalbe tires. I finally bit the bullet and ordered some Schwalbe G-One Speed tires. They’re always pricey, but this at least brought them below $50/tire ($145 for 3 tires).

ParticipantRadio Shack is selling a bluetooth heart rate monitor for $9.00. I think they are closing all stores in the area, but I am not sure. As of last Sunday, I think they have one, perhaps more at Annandale location. Herndon location has 5 as of 2 PM today.

Yes, I’d add a Surly Tugnut to that before riding unless the axle were all the way forward in the dropout. In the one pic, it looks like it has been all the way forward before, judging by the paint loss, but it’s not now.
