ZOMG orange bike! That seems like a really good deal, no? What say you, bike peoples?

I say I like it a lot for that price, even though it seems like every third bike is orange now. Get thee to [STRIKE]Balmer[/STRIKE] Carroll County.

On the one hand, reading up on Poprads suggests this might be a bit big for me.

On the other hand, it’s $350.

On the third hand, [STRIKE]Balmer[/STRIKE] the sticks, hon.

This is far away, out in suburbs of baltimore but looks like a good deal. $350 for a 53cm LeMond Poprad, orange

If that was the Disc version and about 6 cm larger, it would be my new commuter.

Whoa, that’s Eldersburg. Eldersburg is decidedly NOT Balmer. For the most part, it’s pretty pleasant. If you buy the bike, make sure you stop in at Total Discount Liquors on Liberty Road, I worked there for a while in college. Surprisingly good beer selection.

Very good deal. If it doesn’t fit you could flip it for more than $350.

Snooty? Hey, I grew up in Mrrlin. I spent my first 22 years there. It’s not snooty to point out that driving to Carroll County is entirely different from driving into Baltimore. Okay, maybe it is. Whatever.

Just razzing you. I cringe a bit when someone tells me he’s from San Francisco, only to find out that he’s actually from Fremont. But I’m kinda snooty.

I feel the same way when people from Bowie and Arnold tell me they’re from Annapolis.

Whoa, that is snooty. At least Arnold borders Annapolis.

That’s what I figure :) I e-mailed the person to see if I can go look at it this weekend.

We pronounce that “Errrrea” here in the greater Mrrlin Metro errea.

Make sure to drive (I assume you’re driving) with your hand at the top of the steering wheel so you can do the quick Carroll County Wave to any oncoming traffic. Failure to wave back may cause locals to wonder what in the heck is wrong with you. You may also nod your head slightly as you wave (do it at the same time – head goes down, hand goes up) if the oncoming driver is particularly attractive, or has a bike rack on the car, or anything else like that. It is not recommended to do the full Wave (chin on your chest, arm and hand fully outstretched above your head) in the car, as it is both unsafe to take your eyes off the road like that, and difficult to get full hand extension without a convertible.

This was all explained to me years ago by a lifelong Carroll County resident, and it has served me well.
