ParticipantEndura Stealth II waterproof vented softshell.
From 2015, but the price is amazing since they were usually over $200.

Not a bad price, too bad it is black. I love my FS260Pro “jacket” (windproof front); it is great from 30-50°. For me the biggest draw of Endura is the long arms. I am not that impressed with the breathability of their waterproof fabrics, but then I haven’t had any Gore or eVent jackets that impressed me in that regard either. I do like all the vents (pit, side, etc.), though, in the Venturi rain jacket I have of theirs.

And the one Tania pointed out was also a good deal, but was unseeable at dusk & dawn. I refuse to buy outerwear that is not highly visible.

Yeah, I agree. I have a couple compromise-red LS jerseys/jackets, but would always prefer hi-viz yellows, greens, or oranges.

ParticipantI have the old Stealth, which isn’t completely waterproof but breathes very nicely. I have this one now too, the Stealth II (xmas gift), and it doesn’t breathe as well but has even better venting. Also, it doesn’t have any pile under it so it works better for slightly warmer weather. Before, if it was 60 degrees and raining I wouldn’t wear a jacket because it was too warm, but it was 58 yesterday morning and this worked great. So I now have several different softshells for varying weather conditions, which is a bit insane.
Personally, I like wearing a black jacket (with reflective accents) since I don’t feel the need to wear bright orange or yellow jackets, but I do understand why folks would want a hi-viz jacket.
Also, they named this one the “Stealth,” so they couldn’t really make it in orange. Wouldn’t be stealthy.

I posted a wind shirt – it’s more base/mid-layer than jacket.

Fair enough.
I rarely wear more than two layers, and my outer layer is already the wind blocker, so it wouldn’t serve me as well as others.December 28, 2016 at 5:41 pm #1062233Subby
ParticipantBlack is the only color. Get better lights.

You jest, but I have had less faith in lights, and more in reflectors, ever since riding behind a friend and seeing what was really visible. If you feel the need for a black jacket, get one that’s reflective rather than just getting more lights.

Black and pink is a solid color combo!

ParticipantBlack is the new black. Gray is also acceptable, or red if you really need to be loud.
