RoadID is offering $5 off on a RoadID if you correctly answer an easily googleable question about the Tour de France. Correct answers also enters you in a drawing for some pretty good stuff like a Garmin 1000, Apple Watch, trip to the Tour and some other good stuff.

Universal Cycles has Sram GXP BBs on sale for $21. This isn’t drastically cheaper than you can find on ebay, but it’s a good price with inexpensive $5 pick-a-product shipping (and about half of what they cost at the LBS). Limit 3 per customer. (I bought 2. I keep experimenting with Enduro bearing kits, Chris King bottom brackets, etc. but have always ended up concluding that the Sram GXP stainless steel are the best value bottom brackets.)

    Winter is coming!

For some odd reason Schwalbe Marathon Winter Tires 700×35 are $21 on Amazon prime. It could be a mistake, but you could profit from this mistake. Schwalbe Winter (cheaper version) should be about $35. Marathon Winters should be like $60/each!

In hindsight I should have bought and resold 6 pair. Unfortunately I didn’t buy any as I was looking for 26 x 1.75 for my Dutch Bike that I ride in the winter.

I got two in my cart at the sale price but didn’t complete the transaction in time. Oops.

It’s ok. I suspect the 45NRTH Xerxes are worth 4x the cost :-)

Specialized has always been kind to my wide feet. This looks so tempting for Freezing Saddles.

Oof, that is very tempting. But I probably should resist, given that I have two pairs of Northwave boots (that really fit [me] almost identical to Specialized).

How are these Defroster Trail shoes like for walking off the bike?

I think the reviews suggest they aren’t very grippy on ice (or maybe that was the road version). But they are only a stiffness indeed of 6 (out of 11), so they should be flexible enough.

I went ahead and ordered a set. I will sell my newer Northwave boots, since they are a tiny bit tight in my left foot.

    Thanks.

Unfortunately my size is sold out.

I stumbled upon this site by accident. Essentially it is high visibility clothing designed for highway workers and the like. Vests, t-shirts, pants, etc. are all *much* cheaper than standard biking kit (though you do have to give up pockets in most cases).
