ParticipantAnd it’s even my size! Too bad I probably couldn’t ride it well enough to represent.

Participant“Complies with U.S. ASTM and CPSC standard for bicycle helmets for persons after 8 and over.”

I notice that the specs page says everything about the camera and nothing about the helmet  I wonder how good that helmet is. My contour just died – and I love this idea.

ParticipantYes I know it is 60 degrees out there right now and it will be 70 on Sunday but it MAY snow again and if it does you may need studs:

Happy to help but sorry to hear about the stolen LHT!

ParticipantThanks. I’m largely over it now, even if I am still bitter. It was stolen in the spring, so the sting’s not as bad as it was initially.
On the bright side, trying to spread the word about my stolen bike was what first led me here to this forum, so that’s good at least.

ParticipantSo I have appreciated Niterider’s lights, but they keep dying on me. I’m looking at sending back my second light (Lumina 350) for a second RMA; they *just* fixed electrical issues (water-related?) and now it won’t charge. Le sigh. Customer service has been great, but it’s annoying to keep paying to ship back lights & then be down a light for a couple weeks.
But, in looking around I stumbled across the German “Supernova Airstream”. This is an all-in-one battery-based light (they also do dynamo stuff) with a shaped beam designed not to blind oncoming traffic. The new 2014 ones are quite pricey — ~$270 — but Peter White is carrying the original edition for $150. http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/supernovabat.asp
I just ordered one. May be less bright on paper, but the shaped beam might make that less significant (?) Anyway, I figure this will be sufficient for commuting and I’ll get a light helmet mount light to supplement for trail riding.

ParticipantGreat back up wheels for you guys who have a CX that want a second set so you can stop swapping between knobbies and roadies. Don’t be fooled by the few spokes, Rolf Vector Comps are proven tanks that can hang with Open Pros. For $40 it is a bargain.
http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/bik/4272452414.htmlWow, my bad they are vector pros!!! Much better!

Great wheels, but have been discontinued since Trek dropped the Rolf license deal and partnered with Bontrager. The Rolf line is no longer supported, so parts are strictly eBay these day. Just something to keep in mind.

ParticipantThis is a great deal. I have this light in the 420 lumen version. This 680 lumen is on sale for $80. This model has the ability to swap out an extra battery (not included) which is awesome for really long night rides (if that’s your thing).

I don’t see any cycling gear, but there might be some good winter boots, tights or other items useful for cyclists. Running gear and outdoor equipment too.
