With the bullhorns on there it’s probably a good fit at 5’9″. Those bars will stretch you out.

Sounds like with the right marketing pitch, you could flip it right here on the forum if you find something else later in the year you’d rather have!

ParticipantHow about I’ll buy this now, and you buy the next 61cm chrome pista you see, and then we’ll trade.

How about you buy this now, we come up with a plausible “americancyclo gave me this bike because it’s too small for him” cover story, and I pay you in small weekly installments over the next, say, 20 weeks? Win-Win!

ParticipantAre you saying that you’re just now getting around to hiding $10 a week from your wife for a bicycle fund?

Heh. I once built a $3000.00 mountain bike by stockpiling components in my shed one by one over the space of about six months.

This was my plan for my current fixie project, but she noticed the frame after only a few weeks.

ParticipantSo lets say, hypothetically, that I’m going to look at this fixie. What should I look out for? And should I try riding it when I’ve never been on a fixie before, or will I embarrass myself and break something?
Update: checked it out but didn’t pull the trigger. Felt too small, though I could see that some riders my size might be comfortable with it. And the frame seemed to have a lot of surface scratches. It would have been better to see it in daylight to be sure.
Rims were red Weinmann deep Vs. Hubs looked like Formula cartridge bearings, though not positive. front brake was a Tektro, mushy and needed adjustment. Sakae crank.
So, it’s still available. Oh, and I took my first, brief, fixie ride.
