Maybe a few years ago but now they’re usually around $1,400 before tax for the base model. He doesn’t mention the color or if it has disc brakes, but that’s not a bad deal considering the extras.
Hmm. My Disc Trucker was $1400 when I bought it in August 2012 and I know that they slapped a 2 or 3 hundred dollar premium for getting the disc brakes…
Last year was the first year that the Disc brake version was available, so I’m assuming that unless heavily modified, the 2009 LHT he’s selling is standard road calipers.

One of the LBS has them listed at $1,360 for the 700cc caliber version and $1,440 for the disc version. When I looked at one at the same shop last year they were $1,200 with discs.

Hopefully someone who really wants and deserves it will end up with it.

Interesting.
Nice to see my bike has gone *up* in value – although I wish I had known about the shop that had them advertised for $1200 last year!!:
My receipt from August, 2012:
— Charges —
1 “Surly 2012 Disc Trucker 700 Super Dark Green 56- Serial # M1
7″ @ $1,400.00 T
Subtotal $1,400.00
Tax $1,400.00 @ 6.000% = $84.00June 6, 2013 at 12:35 am #972061KelOnWheels

Who wears short shorts? DCV wears short shorts.
The catcalls should have tipped you off.

Sheldon Brown implies this is a 1970s Raleigh Sprite (though listed as 1960s). No idea if $115 (needs tune up, I’m guessing) is a good deal.

Hmmmm … tempting. I’ve been looking for a tweed bike. There is no way that is from the 1960s though if a 10 speed and with those shifters. And don’t they know they are supposed to take pictures from the drive side??

That’s a nice-looking bike. $100 or so and some new tubes sounds like a good price to me.
I like when CL sellers give multiple images of the same side of the bike. “Here’s how the left side looks on bricks, and this is how it looks on grass.”
