I’m sort of regretting buying the New York Fahgettaboudit lock. 4.5lb yikes. Oh well it was only $80 on Amazon. I’ll keep my off season bike locked up with it.

That one’s so heavy I leave it permanently at my rack at work. And by “permanently,” I mean the locking mechanism failed and it will never leave there. (Luckily it happened when my bike wasn’t locked up.)

Meh, no worries

I had one that I used with a chain to lock the bikes on my rear car rack, but one day before a ride I left the barrel sitting on the rear rack, drove 60 miles and it was (not surprisingly) gone when I got home.

ParticipantWow, gone in 240 seconds.
I realize I could remove it with some work, but it’s not worth it to me since I’d never put it on my bike again.

ParticipantJust found a $24 bike repair stand at the Beltsville Aldi grocery store. Haven’t pulled it out of the box yet, but for $24 bucks I couldn’t pass it up as my good one is held together with hose clamps and epoxy.

ParticipantIt’d be nice if it was harder to pick, but that still took effort and skill. Not a 5-second Bic pen job, a 4 minute, burglarious tools job.

ParticipantA battery powered angle grinder can free any bike from the hardest of steel locks in no more than 60 seconds. Locks can only ever be illusions of safety, but let’s not pretend that a bike thief knows the first thing about lock picking. The Wirecutter did a great piece on locks: https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-bike-lock/

Last two days! These tires(Serfas Seca Survior) lasted me the same as Gatorskin, with the same protection. It started showing the tread underneath after 2390 Miles(used on the rear wheel), then swapped it with the front tire, and it gave me 550 Miles extra, a total of 2940 Miles!

FWIW – Bicycling thought it was a good value at $28. See https://youtu.be/gNxAeLSmF0A for their review.

ParticipantSpokes, in-store, 20% off all Camelback.
One of the sales reps said they’re moving away from Camelback ultimately, and won’t carry them eventually (in favor of some other brand I can’t recall.) -
