I walked them every Tuesday night my sophomore year in college… Not the best memories from that time :-)

I think I just figured out that you (jopamora) are Peter K! Am I right? Your avatar should have been the tip off, but I mean how many people have pictures of this whatever it is? If it IS you Pete, let me know and it was great riding with you Vin, and Greg that fun Sunday!

    You are right.

Google and my Flickr feed will make it easy to find, but I’m curious if anyone has ridden to see it.

When you come out the other end, there are more steps, then a one way street that leads to a major, 6 lane, divided highway.

I don’t think anyone ever got this one. I believe this is the tunnel under Arlington Blvd. near George Mason Drive and the Foreign Service Institute

It’s the plow sculpture outsde the DC Evidence Control Facility near the old DC Village on DC Village Lane SW. Just at the end (or beginning depending on your direction) of the Oxon Cove trail which links SW DC to National Harbor and the Wilson Bridge. My bike commute takes me through here.

    Cool photo thanks for sharing.

Do you mind sharing your commute route? I get bored taking S Cap St Bridge thru the city sometimes, and wouldn’t mind understanding how to get from that area (say Bolling) down to the Wilson Bridge. It should be noted that I am *somewhat* risk adverse and so riding on something like South Cap (roadway) wouldn’t be my favorite.

Thanks! Cool that people know about it. I know it was near the Law Enforcement memorial for a while, but found its place down south.

Tell me about your commute! From where to where. I’m spending time around different places and exploring people’s commutes for some WABA stuff that I’m doing. You can send it via private message if you prefer. :D

I often do a loop that takes me out on the MVT (hopefully early enough to avoid traffic on nice days), around National Harbor, across the Oxon Cove trail (which is in pretty bad shape in sections), and then through Anacostia, eventually linking back up with the ART trail to head back into Capitol Hill. I had no idea this was out there, so thanks to you and Pete for giving me a new water and snack break!

Any recommendations for other good riding out that way that I might be missing out on?

No problem! It’s a great commute with lots to see. I start at South Arlington near the Water Pollution Control plant, Eads and four mile run and end up at DC Water Blue Plains – 5000 Overlook Avenue, it’s 12 miles exactly and takes me around 50 mins average. 4Mr to Mount Vernon to Wilson Bridge and then Oxon Cove trail to shepherd parkway, under 295 to my destination.

As for the route I thought I’d add it to the ‘Where do you ride’ section so others can find it. Here is the link:
