ParticipantA descendant of Newton’s apple tree off International Drive in Van Ness. This is a descendant of the tree from which it is reputed that Newton saw an apple fall that inspired his musings on gravitational force. Another fun fact is that it is on the site of the National Bureau of Standards (now known as the National Institute of Standards and Technology) before it later moved to Gaithersburg.
