I went for a depiction of Rosa Parks herself (along with a number of other civil rights icons — it looks to be one of the Selma to Montgomery marches). The mural is by Eric Okdeh and “Men at SCI Graterford” (which was a state prison that has since closed).

I didn’t set out today with any set destination in mind, nor a strategy for the daily photo scavenger hunt, which then forced me to pay more attention to my surroundings, and take in the beautiful afternoon. And as luck would have it, I stumbled upon this “rose” while passing through downtown McLean VA!

During your ride, capture a stationary clock or other time-telling device in a photo and post here. “Stationary” means something that is affixed or doesn’t move easily, and not something like a wristwatch or phone. Wall clocks are fine.

I continue to learn new things every day because of Freezing Saddles. Today I learned that there is a florist in the shopping center near my house. (The same shopping center where I learned that there was a bakery nearby when I was looking for pie).

My first thought today was to bike into DC and take a picture of one or another of the Politics and pROSE shops, but time got away from me and I wound up having time just for a local ride. Fortunately, this place is right near home – basically across the street from the skate park I photographed the other day.
