2/3/21 – “Ritchie Valens” subanagram: the word, 5-letters or more

On February 3, 1959, musicians Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly, and J.P. Richardson perished in a plane crash in Iowa. The event later became known as “The Day the Music Died“.

On your ride, find a word (i.e., not the thing) on a sign using just the letters in Ritchie Valens’ name. The word has to be 5 letters or more.

    Happy hunting! :)

Castle! Was riding to a shopping center for the word “center” when I passed this street.

I stopped by my nearby CLEANERS which offers laundry SERVICE to get two sub-anagrams in one sub-anagram photo. This shop is on Washington Boulevard, named for Founding Father who was an ENSLAVER. It also made me realize that at this point I haven’t had to bring anything in for dry cleaning in almost a year.

Haha, I did not. But I did swing on the construction site’s “cantilevers.”

So many choices! I hafta wonder if Drevil maybe gave us Ritchie Valens because it’s still snowy & icy out…. If it were clear maybe we woulda gotten buddy holly!

Anyhow I hafta choose between pix of “Chinese” & “Civitan.” My husband had never heard of Civitan so here ya go

I confess that I took a picture of this sign at the National Arboretum thinking “insects” might work but then realizing that would need another “s.” I kept it in hopes of finding anagrams within later on–didn’t want to waste riding time! It turns out that there’s a bunch:

    Invite
    Native
    Nectar
    Learn
    Visit
    Service

    Did I miss any others?
