2/1/21 – Composition with Red Blue and Yellow
I figured there would be boundless opportunities for photos with the 3 colors, even on a short ride due to the gross conditions. Pretty quickly this one caught my eye (I’ve ridden by countless times and never paid attention)….obviously, this one would have to be the photo I submitted today.
Nevertheless, I still did stop for a few other colorful shots that caught my eye. Finding red, blue, and yellow cars in one shot brought flashbacks to the other day….too bad they were not all Mercedes though

Found a mural on a switch box in the wild outside Falls Church City Hall that matched the red pedals, blue frame & yellow bell of my Bike Friday!

On February 1, 1944, Piet Mondrian – regarded as on of the greatest artists of the 20th century – passed away. His painting “Composition with Red Blue and Yellow” was used as the base for one of cycling’s most enduring jerseys: La Vie Claire in the 80s.
On your ride, compose your single snapshot so that you capture all three of the colors that Mondrian eventually limited his palette to: red, blue, and yellow. Just make sure that all three colors are clearly visible. You can use your bike, helmet or clothing on yourself to represent one of the colors. The other two colors must be found in the wild.

But I’ve (finally) learned that when I absolutely do NOT want to ride, if I put my bike and gear in the car and take it with me, I feel so guilty about the driving part that I figure out a place to ride. Also – you have to be careful about garage riding. At first I was thinking I’d go over to Tyson’s Corner to the mall since their parking lots are so much bigger . . . but they also have mall security and I thought I might get chased out. Fortunately, Target’s security set up is a bit less pretentious.
