Olney is certainly not a Mercedes type of town. It was too cold and windy for me to give a rats ass about what color or trying to get my bike into the picture.

I also blocked out the tags in respect of these Olney residents.

There were boatloads of benzes where I rode today (cabin John /Potomac) but they were ALL black or gray…. so [emoji1744]

This was the first one we saw, waaaay inside sometimes huge yard. I wouldn’t even have been able to make out the insignia from the road, but Anne did. [emoji16][emoji1360]

And fwiw I didn’t see any green ones either…. I vote Casey gets da points.

Red and blue were easy to find, yellow was indeed elusive, but then the flashy green car caught my eye. I have sacrificed extra points by not posting the red and blue cars, in the hope that the judge will find the flashy green, not only eye catching, but worthy of extra points.

I think YOU should get the points for variety — but I think the dealership should get negative points for using up all those handicap spaces for car storage!

We hit the Benz jackpot in the south side of Old Town. Lots of red, black, silver, white, even a blue. But alas, not a yellow in sight.

“A Benz in the Wild”, 1/29/21, This is the first time that I was actually worried about taken a picture. I pasted up a few because I didn’t want people coming out of their houses thinking that I was doing something to their Benz in their driveways, so I search until I found one parked on the street.

Yes, historygeek, this is absolutely Mercedes Benz’s retro version of yellow. Not the first time I’ve seen one this color in my life.

Fun fact: In “The Millionaire Next Door” it mentioned that millionaires tended to buy – for no reason that’s apparent – cars that were a better price per pound than other cars (used, and hold on to them). At the top of that list? Mercedes Benz

My in-laws were not millionaires, but they had a car around this vintage, so it makes me think of them.

1/29/21 – Mercedes Benz

This game would have been so much easier if I still lived in Stuttgart, but alas….
Went hunting early in the morning, and only found the yellow one painted on the side of the truck at the Arlington dealer (see Boomer’s pic). Plenty of blue, red, and every other color though.
Went hunting at lunch for an elusive yellow one in the wild; thru the streets of Clarendon/Rosslyn, G’town, and many NW DC streets to no avail.
Gave up on finding a yellow in the wild, so settled for a pic from the zoo….EuroMotors Bethesda

I was biking with Nadine and looking out for Benzes because she didn’t know what they looked like. We were in Potomac so there should have been some around but all we were seeing in the way of fancy cars were BMWs and a Tesla. It was very cold, as you all know because you were out too, and I was tying to warm up when I saw one in a driveway on the left. It was black and boring but better to get a photo now and we can keep looking for something more colorful. Cold hands be damned! Nadine was on my left and I didn’t want to hit her so I started yelling that I was going to turn left in front of her. We got a close to the fence next to the driveway as we could and got our photos. Potomac is so boring, we never did find anything more colorful.
