1/25/21 – Bubbles & bubble wrap

I went to the Mecca of packing, the epicenter of all things bubbly, the center of commerce in Reston: UPS. While not artistically my best, the grandness of the submission should count for something.

Bubbles Salon has many locations, including one here in Reston. It was my first thought — but I couldn’t find any actual bubbles on their storefront or logo and I wasn’t sure if the word would suffice! I guess it’s up in the air (get it? bubbles up in the air?) lol

They’re small so I got a close-up. The white patch is all bubble foam, too.

They are owned by the same (bankrupt) parent company as Hair Cuttery. At first, I didn’t think I’d come up with anything, but in the middle of the night, I remembered this salon, which used to be a Hair Cuttery (less than 1/2 mile away). I’m hoping for a lax judge and get credit for something. My brain is already fried, I don’t need to think any more than I have to!

I didn’t realize they’re bankrupt … they sure had a lot of locations so the covid restrictions must have hit them really hard. Bummer for the employees! That’s a hard enough job as it is!
