    1/15/21 – Bagel

In honor of National Bagel Day on 1/15, on your ride take a pic of a bagel or a shop that features bagels. Let us know where the good stuff is!

1/14/21 – “Benedict Arnold” Anagram Word (5 or more letters, can’t be handwritten or on/in something portable)

    It’s the nation’s most famous traitor’s birthday on 1/14: Benedict Arnold :D

    Read below:

    1. Find a word using “Benedict Arnold” as the base for an anagram, then take a picture of the word out there in the wild. It can’t be handwritten OR in/on something portable (book, magazine, energy bar wrapper, etc). Street signs, outdoor ads, or descriptions on plaques are examples of acceptable entries.
    2. Don’t know what an anagram is? Basically, jumble all the letters in his name and pull out words using just those letters. For example, one word I can pull out after jumbling the letters is “neon” (it’s just 4 letters, so it doesn’t count in this hunt). Now I just ride around and take a picture of the word “neon” on a sign, a poster, etc. I don’t want the visual representation of that word (like an “OPEN” sign), I want the actual word to be shown in that photo
    3. For this hunt, the word has to be 5 letters or more.
    4. The first person to post a picture of the longest word by the end of the day on 1/14 will get 5 extra bonus points. If the post is edited, that will be the time I am considering it posted.
    5. Remember, just post 1 pic/day (plus follow all the rest of the rules of the game)

    Happy hunting!

While visiting Jones Point today I found some historical markers. The word “inland” is used in the statement about native people, after the ice age, leaving their “inland” villages to establish hunting and fishing camps at Jones Point. Who knew that reading historical markers could provide answers to puzzles?

    1/15/21 – Bagel

I have to say Bagels are NOT a thing in Spain. Bread is huge with every meal and the baguettes are traditional so I guess Bagels never really made it! That said I found a shop featuring Bagels “American Style”, they also sell “American” Cereal (you can see them in the picture inside the store) and “American” muffins.

    1/15/21- Einstein’s *meh*

However, if one ever finds oneself in North Pinellas, Elizabeth’s Bakery is amazing. They’re across the street from Einstein’s and much better quality food, though no bagels. Highly recommend their lemon bars and apple pies!

Here’s a picture of the word “Breadline” (see, I am trainable!). Too bad they’re closed. Their bread was better than Arnold’s, and I hear they made a great Eggs Benedict.

They had great salads too! The lunch lines would go out the door!

Dunkin’ Donuts is the closest place near me that has bagels. I’ve had them, and they aren’t bad. Maybe not as good as some specialty bagel places, but no complaints here. This one is on Columbia Pike near Walter Reed Drive, in Arlington, VA.

I don’t know why the photo turned sideways. Heavy sigh.
