I’m very disappointed that no one used “sh*thole” as their Liam Hemsworth anagram. Porta-potties are everywhere waiting to be photographed, and one could argue that right now any picture taken in the United States qualifies.

Well, he wanted a word and I have yet to see a portapotty that advertised itself that way! Truth in Advertising though … ha ha

I need the word, not the thing, Mr. “TooManyRulesDrevil” Accordioneur ;)

Ahhh, I misunderstood the instructions. I guess the five new rules for today’s hunt were TLDR for me :(

Wanted to use my mask but it uses the “s” twice. True though right?

Google Maps said the nearest thing named “Isothermal” was 357 miles away, so I’m going with “Homes” which incidentally appeared in a pic that I took to document today’s wormhole exploration in Tyson’s Corner23d80fd5054b874ec9695d73890c2ad5.jpg

1/14/21 – “Benedict Arnold” Anagram Word (5 or more letters, can’t be handwritten or on/in something portable)

It’s the nation’s most famous traitor’s birthday on 1/14: Benedict Arnold :D

Read below:

1. Find a word using “Benedict Arnold” as the base for an anagram, then take a picture of the word out there in the wild. It can’t be handwritten OR in/on something portable (book, magazine, energy bar wrapper, etc). Street signs, outdoor ads, or descriptions on plaques are examples of acceptable entries.
2. Don’t know what an anagram is? Basically, jumble all the letters in his name and pull out words using just those letters. For example, one word I can pull out after jumbling the letters is “neon” (it’s just 4 letters, so it doesn’t count in this hunt). Now I just ride around and take a picture of the word “neon” on a sign, a poster, etc. I don’t want the visual representation of that word (like an “OPEN” sign), I want the actual word to be shown in that photo
3. For this hunt, the word has to be 5 letters or more.
4. The first person to post a picture of the longest word by the end of the day on 1/14 will get 5 extra bonus points. If the post is edited, that will be the time I am considering it posted.
5. Remember, just post 1 pic/day (plus follow all the rest of the rules of the game)

Happy hunting!

I’ll never be first, since I rarely wake up before 9 am! But I’ll still play along.

Some of the folks on here don’t seem to sleep!!

And a few years from now, this post might have a different name.

It’s Thor’s brother Liam Hemsworth’s birthday on 1/13.

This one’s complicated, but easier than you think. Read below:

1. Find a word using “Liam Hemsworth” as the base for an anagram, then take a picture of the word out there in the wild. It can’t be handwritten OR in/on something portable (book, magazine, energy bar wrapper, etc). Street signs, outdoor ads, or descriptions on plaques are examples of acceptable entries.

For example, one word I can pull out after jumbling the letters is “mail” (it’s just 4 letters, so it doesn’t count in this hunt). Now I just ride around and take a picture of the word “mail” on a sign, a post office, etc. I don’t want the visual representation of that word (like a mailbox or an envelope), I want the actual word to be shown in that photo
3. For this hunt, the word has to be 5 letters or more.
4. The first person to post a picture of the longest word by the end of the day on 1/13 will get 5 extra bonus points. If the post is edited, that will be the time I am considering it posted.

Looks like bigredboiler’s claimed (one of the) longest word(s), so I’ll go with something more topical: a Philly ballot drop-off box. It’s bolted to the ground, it’s not portable.

First bullet point includes “Counterfeiting, forging, tampering with, or destroying ballots is a second-degree misdemeanor pursuant to sections 1816 and 1817 of the Pennsylvania Election Code”. Eight letters! Larger image here

Side note: I need to start staying up later so I can plan these out the day before, not morning of.

1/14/2021 — “Benedict Arnold” anagram word. Here’s another “celebration,” this time for a different figure from the Revolutionary War:

And here’s the full text, in case it’s hard to read in the photo:

1824
Hero of the American Revolution

The Marquis de Lafayette, hero of the American Revolution, visits Alexandria for a Grand Reception and Celebration held in his honor and, while here, calls on the widow of his old comrade Henry Lee. Lafayette, the last surviving general of the Revolutionary War, was invited by President James Monroe to be “The Nation’s Guest,” attending parades, ceremonies and receptions in every state.
